Alexander von Humboldt-Professorship

Since the summer of 2024, Prof Dr Eva Pils is Humboldt Professor at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. Together with FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, Eva Pils plans to expand the area of human rights as a research focus. The aim is to establish the Centre for Human Rights Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU CHREN) and the Faculty of Law as a top institution for research and teaching throughout Europe on the long-term challenges in the field of human rights.

Humboldt Professorship: Award for world-leading researchers

The Alexander von Humboldt Professorship is the most highly endowed German science award and is only awarded to top researchers who are paramount in their field and are active abroad. The Humboldt Professorships are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and are endowed with up to 5 million euros. The award winners are to be encouraged to work in Germany in the long term.
